VersaPrint Instructions

This guide will help assist you in getting the best possible results from imprinting your products with the VersaPrint Paper and OEM laser toners. As there are many variables involved due to the different laser printer and substrate combinations, your best results may differ slightly, but this should be used as a starting point and adjusted as needed.

ALWAYS use the multipurpose or bypass tray and select the "thick" paper option. Feed one sheet at a time to avoid paper jams and print on the glossy side of the paper for hard goods. For fabrics, print on the side with the stabalizer strip fed first into the printer. Allow ½" blank on that side to allow for the strip.

Fabrics

Apply using a commercial heat transfer press at 375°-390°F (190°-198°C) using heavy pressure. Times are as follows:

  • T-Shirts & Mouse Pads 30 seconds, peel hot.
  • Sweatshirts 25-30 seconds, peel hot
  • Not recommended for Puzzles and Nylon Jackets

Flat Ceramics (bisque or glazed)

Print upside down on a Nomex Felt or similar type pad. Use 1/8" green silicone rubber pad over the tile. Press at 300° to 325°F for 3 to 3 1/2 minutes. Allow to cool before removing the transfer and then post-cure in a 400° oven for 15 minutes.

Matte Glazed Mugs or Frosted Glass Mugs

In a mug press, use 300°F for 3 1/2 minutes. With Cactus Wraps, bake at 300° for 15 minutes. Allow to cool before removing transfer and then post-cure at 400° for 15 minutes.

Thick Acrylic (1/2" and over)

Print right side up with a 1/8" green silicone rubber pad on top. Make sure paper covers the entire piece of acrylic. Press 1 minute at 350°F, rotate 180 degrees and press for another minute. Allow to cool before removing transfer. If a white background is desired, use white sign vinyl.

Thin Plastics (Sign Vinyl, Styrene, PVC, ABS etc)

A good starting point is print right side up with a plain piece of paper underneath the plastic and another over the transfer. Place a 1/16" green silicone pad on top and press at 300°F for 1 to 3 minutes depending on the plastic. Cool quickly on a cool flat surface (such as a Cool Plate or something similar). Allow to cool before removing transfer and do not post cure. For sign vinyl, use a Teflon sheet underneath rather than paper.

Aluminum (.020" - .125")

Print face up with a 1/16" green silicone pad at 300°F for 1 minute. Allow to cool before removing transfer and post cure in a 400° oven for 5 minutes.
